On Saturday, May 17, 2008, the Richland County Celiac Support Group held its 7th Annual International Walk for Celiac Disease at the North Lake Park Bike Trail. Approximately 50 walkers took to the bike trail for a 2-mile walk. Following the walk, there was a raffle for all the donations from local and internet sponsors. There were approximately 40 different items donated, from gift certificates to gift baskets. After the walk and raffle, 29 walkers made their way to the Bob Evans Restaurant on Trimble Road for a late breakfast/early lunch. Two loaves of gluten-free Raisin Bread were supplied and toasted to go along with their breakfasts. The weather cooperated with us 100% - the sun came out and it was just perfect for walking. After arriving at breakfast, the rains came... What a great ending to what had been an iffy prospect of even walking!
